ნაშრომში მოცემულია საქართველოში გავრცელებული უდაბნოს მცენარეულობის ტიპოლოგიური შემადგენლობა, გავრცელების კანონზომიერებანი და გეობოტანიკური დახასიათება აღწერების შეჯამებული ცხრილების თანდართვით. მოცემულია ფლორისტული შემადგენლობის სისტემატიკური სტრუქტურის, გეოგრაფიული არეალის ტიპებისა და სასიცოცხლო ფორმების ანალიზი. გამოთქმულია მოსაზრებანი საქართველოს უდაბნოს მცენარეულობის წარმოშობისა და ფლოროგენეზური კავშირების შესახებ. განხილულია უდაბნოს ექსტრემალურ საარსებო გარემო პირობებში მცენარეთა შეგუების ზოგიერთი ასპექტი. ნაშრომს თან ერთვის საქართველოს უდაბნოს ფლორისა და მცენარეულობის კვლევის მოკლე ისტორია, გავრცელების ძირითადი არეალების ფიზიკურ-გეოგრაფიული პირობების დახასიათება და საქართველოს უდაბნოს მცენარეულობაში გავრცელებული ჭურჭლოვან მცენარეთა 278, ხავსების 2 და ლიქენების 7 სახეობის ფლორის კონსპექტი, ასევე გამოყენებული ლიტერატურის (185 დასახელება) სია, 29 ცხრილი, 10 დიაგრამა და საქართველოს ფლორისათვის იშვიათი 14 სახეობის წერტილოვანი რუკა. წიგნი გათვალისწინებულია ბიოლოგების, ბუნების დაცვის სპეციალისტების, პედაგოგებისა და სტუდენტებისათვის.
This book details typological composition of the desert vegetation found in Georgia, describes regularities in the distribution and provides geobotanical description with summary tables attached. It also provides analysis of systematic structure of floristic composition, geographical range types and life forms. This book contains some considerations on genesis and florogenetic relations of the desert vegetation in Georgia and discusses some aspects of plant adaptation to extreme desert environment. It includes the following as attachments: brief history of studies of desert flora and vegetation of Georgia, description of physical- geographical conditions of main distribution ranges and a conspectus of flora containing 278 species of vascular plants, 2 mosses and 7 lichens found in the desert vegetation of Georgia, references (185), 29 tables, 10 graphs and map with locations of 14 species rare in Georgia. This book is intended for biologists, environmentalists, teachers and students.
