This is a comprehensive list of the wild plants reported to be found in the East Bay Regional Park District. The plants are sorted alphabetically by scientific name. This list includes the common name, family, status, invasiveness rating, origin, longevity, habitat, and bloom dates. EBRPD plant names that have changed since the 1993 Jepson Manual are listed alphabetically in an appendix.

This document is a compilation of field surveys submitted by various sources. Readers are encouraged to report any corrections (including probable misidentifications), additions, suggested improvements, or any other feedback by emailing the District Botanist (Wilde Legard, wlegard@ebparks.org). What Plants Talk About (Full Documentary)


When we think about plants, we don't often associate a term like "behavior" with them, but experimental plant ecologist JC Cahill wants to change that. The University of Alberta professor maintains that plants do behave and lead anything but solitary and sedentary lives.
